Game Day Parking
During all home football games, the Resident Remote lot on Curry Court and the lots around Carol Belk-Health and Human Performance will be closed and designated for the NON-STUDENT Pirate Club. To accommodate the lot's D permit holders, Parking and Transportation will allow these D permit holders to park in other lots/zones. ALL cars may begin relocating starting at
12pm on Friday, September 1, 2017. All cars must be out of the Curry Court and Stratford Arms lots by 5pm Friday, September 1, 2017. All cars must be out of these lots by the appropriate time stated above for each lot, or they will be relocated by a towing establishment. D permits may park in any A or B zone on main campus. Exceptions are indicated in red on the map above - these areas will be reserved for ADA (handicapped) accommodation and the STUDENT Pirate Club during the game.
If you are a member of the STUDENT Pirate Club and have a D permit, you still have to move your car out of the Curry Court lot since that lot is reserved for the
Non-Student Pirate Club. You will relocate your car to the
Student Pirate Club lot at the bottom of College Hill that is indicated in the appropriate red area on the map above. There is a separate Student Pirate Club permit that is required to be displayed in order to park in the reserved Student Pirate Club lot on the bottom of College Hill. This permit is
NOT given to Student Pirate Club members by our office. These permits must be obtained from the Athletics Department and are subject to sell out prior to the game. The Student Pirate Club's number is 737-4540.
As always, students also cannot park in any other reserved, ADA spaces (handicapped spaces) unless authorized by our office, maintenance/service areas, and no parking zones or fire zones.
All faculty/staff and students must return to their respective zones by 7am Tuesday, September 5, 2017.
OTHER GAME DAY PARKING INFO FOR COLLEGE HILL & UMSTEAD
During home football games, there's a few things ECU Parking & Transportation would like to remind all College Hill Residents and/or their visitors in regards to parking before Kickoff. Kickoff is at 6pm so at 3pm on Saturday, September 2, 2017 expect to see the following to happen:
STUDENT PIRATE CLUB
The B1 lot at the bottom of College Hill is designated for the Student Pirate Club. If you are a STUDENT Pirate Club member, then you must obtain a STUDENT Pirate Club permit from the Pirate Club office and have it properly displayed on your car in order park in the B1 lot at the bottom of College Hill on Saturday, September 2, 2017. Pirate Club members can contact the Pirate Club at 737-4540 to obtain permits.
*Please note that these permits are subject to sell out prior to the game.
Attention: Towing Relocations
Any vehicles that are not moved prior to the game will be towed to an alternative location. Any cars left in the Curry Court lot will be moved to the lots behind the Motor Pool Vehicle Lot. Any cars left in the Minges lots around the Stadium area will be moved to the lots beside and across from the Swashbuckler Car Wash on 14th Street. Please reference the maps below. ATTENTION! - Move-In and Permit Pick-Up Information
Parking and Transportation Services would like to welcome all new and returning students to East Carolina University for the 2017-2018 Academic year! There are a few items we'd like to bring to those individual's attention that were able to purchase an annual parking permit to include permits that have been purchased but not yet received as well as what to expect during move-in for those students residing in residence halls. We have divided this post into sections pertaining to each item, so please see below for more information.
Permits Purchased but Not Yet Received:
As of July 24, 2017, our office stopped mailing all student permits in order to prevent your permit bypassing you when you come to campus as well as to prevent other mailing issues this close to the start of the new academic year. So if you have not received your permit yet, we are holding all permits for pick-up distribution only. We also do not mail to residence halls. So if you chose to have your permit mailed to your dorm room when you purchased it, then it was held for pick-up instead. This section of this email is to explain where and when to pick up your annual parking permit based on the type of permit you have purchased.
Students residing in residence halls that have purchased an A2, B2, or D permit, your permit will be available for pickup at our Main Campus office location (305 E. 10th Street - across from the Krispy Kreme and next to the McDonalds) BEFORE and AFTER move-in. These permits will NOT be at our Main Campus office location during move-in - Wednesday, August 16th through Friday, August 18th. During these 3 days, A2, B2 and D permits will only be available for pickup at the parking table inside the Minges Coliseum during the Centralized Key pickup for your residence hall room. To accommodate late arrivers during move-in, our Main Campus office location will extend our normal operational hours in order to be open for a short period of time (12pm to 4pm) on Saturday, August 19th. The A2, B2 and D permits will be returned to our Main Campus office location on 10th Street on Saturday, August 19th, where they will also remain available for pick-up during our normal business hours starting again on Monday, August 21st.
Commuter students living off-campus that have purchased C2 permits will only be able to pick their permits up at our Main Campus office location on 10th Street before, during and after move-in. These permits will
be available at the parking table in Minges during the Centralized Key pick-up for resident students.
Commuter students living off-campus that have purchased B4 permits will only be able to pick up their permits at our Health Sciences Campus office location on the 2nd floor, Room 220 of the new Student Center Building located between Laupus Library and the East Carolina Heart Institute during the hours of 7:30am to 11:30am, Monday - Thursday. The only time the B4 permits will be allowed to be moved from the Health Sciences Campus office location to the Main Campus office location for pick-up purposes is during the week of Monday, August 14th through Saturday, August 19th. This week, please note the Health Sciences Campus office location will be closed so that our office can consolidate resources for move-in. The B4 permits will be returned to the Health Sciences Campus office location on Monday, August 21st where they will remain for pick-up purposes.
Instructions during Move-In for Those Students Residing in Residence Halls:
This section of this email is to make students residing in residence halls aware of what to expect in regards to the traffic flow and parking during move-in and how they and their families can obtain "Move-In Permits". These move-in permits are completely different permits from the annual parking permits that were purchased in that they are given free of charge and are only valid for residents and their families during move-in.
Students residing in residence halls and their families coming to help them move-in are reminded to enter the Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium area from Charles Boulevard and to get in the drive-thru check-in lanes in the parking lot closest to Charles Blvd. Once checked-in, resident students and their families will park in the designated lots further up in the Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium area. There will be signs and attendants to direct you to these lots. Resident students are then to enter the Minges coliseum lobby and stand in their queue lines for their respective dorms to receive their room keys. If you haven't already picked your annual parking permit up, then after you get your room key stop by the parking table adjacent to the tables distributing the room keys. Once you've received your annual parking permit, go back to your vehicle. At that point, you and your family will then drive your vehicles to the top of the Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium area where there will be directional signs designating each move-in area. Follow the appropriate sign to get in the drive-thru queue lanes for your residence hall in order to receive your MOVE-IN Permit. Both the resident student and their families that have items to unload for the student will receive the MOVE-IN Permit for their vehicles. Once you and your family have received your respective MOVE-IN Permit, proceed to your dorm to unload your items.
- AFTER unloading and BEFORE unpacking, resident students and their families are asked to move your vehicles to following respective areas according to where the student's dorm is located: For College Hill Residents/Families, move vehicles to Elmhurst Elementary School's Practice Field off 14th Street (across from the stadium); For Core/West Campus Residents/Families, move vehicles to the Reade Street parking lots (downtown, starting from across the street from Sup Dog's Restaurant).
We appreciate everyone's cooperation and understanding during this extremely busy time of year. While we will try our best to answer phone calls and return voicemails during this time, please be aware that it might take some time to respond but we will respond as soon as possible. In response to demand, Parking and Transportation Services has been able to expand the D zone twice since student sales opened on July 17, 2017. The areas indicated in red on the map below are the only locations D-zone permit holders are able to park at this time. Please review this map so that you can remain compliant and avoid being ticketed. After the semester is underway we will survey occupancy again. If there are further accommodations that can be made, then at that time we will send further email communications.
