Office of Undergraduate Research
Undergrad student researching

Welcome to the Office of Undergraduate Research at East Carolina University. Our office, in the Division of Research, Economic Development and Engagement, is well situated within the research enterprise at ECU, allowing all students access to research opportunities all over campus as well as outside.

We believe all students should have access to quality undergraduate research opportunities within any field of study. Therefore, we offer competitive awards, called the Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity Awards, to fund research supplies and stipends. As research should be disseminated, we have travel funds for students presenting their work at discipline-specific meetings. We also sponsor the annual Undergraduate Research Day during ECU's Research and Creative Achievement Week (RCAW) in April and trips to the State of North Carolina Undergraduate Research and Creativity Symposium (SNCURCS) and the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR).
