Visual art enthusiasts can enjoy frequent exhibitions of student work in the Mendenhall Gallery, as well as student, faculty and touring exhibitions in the School of Art and Design’s Wellington B. Gray Gallery. Additional exhibition spaces include the Spilman Gallery, located in the university’s main administration building, and Joyner Library’s Faulkner Gallery. Multiple locations on campus showcase work from the School of Art and Design’s extensive African Art Collection.
Campus features a significant number of outdoor sculptures. Concentrations can be found near the Jenkins Fine Arts Center, Joyner Library and also at the Heart Institute and the football field.
Performing arts enthusiasts can enjoy many student, faculty and guest artists performances.
The School of Theatre and Dance, stages five productions annually in McGinnis Theatre. Student, faculty and experimental work is presented in the Archie R. Burnette Jr. Studio Theatre. Productions from the school regularly grace stages in venerable theatres in Goldsboro and Washington.
Student Activities Board host two annual concerts. A homecoming event typically is held in Minges Coliseum. In the spring, students celebrate with attractions and live music during Barefoot on the Mall.
